Review

We had the most perfect wedding weekend in Scotland last year. Every part of it was dream-like but mostly helped by our perfect venue and lovely registrar who was simply wonderful! She visited the day before the wedding and was so kind she explained everything with care and attention and even calmed my groom's nerves on the morning of the wedding.

We decided to rent a house near Perth, Dalnagairn House, for our wedding weekend and take 15 of our closest friends up and then be joined by 15 more friends and family on the day. Although we stayed all weekend we married on the Sunday and had the ceremony in the house and walked down to the local pub for food before having a ceilidh back at the house.

The house was perfect and allowed us to cook for our friends the first night and together have a buffet style supper the night before the wedding - to which everyone brought their own favourite dishes. As a venue it was wonderfully beautiful and yet calmingly down to earth - as we found ourselves moving furniture and setting up chairs for the ceremony the night before.

We were able to have warm beds and fires but still had enough space to do our own things in the afternoon - and the local pub were just superb feeding us on the day and watering some of the boys, over the whole weekend!

We didn't have much of a budget but even if we did I know my husband and I would choose the very same day. The weather was kind, the locals who helped with the wedding - even kinder and we ended up honeymooning around Scotland highlands and dreaming of a time when we can move up North for good.

Scotland has always been a special place for me and now it is equally special for my husband. We are blessed to have been lucky enough to have wed in our dream destination which is still close enough to visit regularly - in fact we have only just returned from an anniversary visit last week!
