Our venue was fantastic from beginning to end...only one gripe i had was that 5 guests did turn up at a cost to us of £350 and they didn't put the extra food or drink out neither did they give us the funds back so we were left out of pocket.

Fantastic day, despite the threat of rain, the setting was beautiful and I would recommend anyone get married here! The staff were excellent on the day handing out umbrellas to guests when the rain started (only a little bit!). They decorated the tables beautifully and made sure everyone was okay at the Top Table throughout the meal. The rooms in the hotel were great and the breakfast was also fabulous.
We had our short civil ceremony in the Macmillian suite overlooking the loch and it was spectacular - the only difficulty was that the light streaming through the ceiling to floor windows made the photographers job a little harder and our poor friend on the video camera had a nightmare getting the light balance right. As long as your photographer knows what to expect it shouldn't be a problem.
The florist we used was based in Glasgow, not a problem at all as the flowers arrived on the morning of the wedding in pristine condition, despite the car journey.
Transport-wise the hotel is a little bit further from the Balloch train station than I realised, a taxi cost about £14 return.
Our photographer got some amazing shots on the pier and some really lovely family shots on the beach with the loch in the background. The choice for photographs is really fantastic.
The haggis starter at the wedding meal was the most popular and the waiter at the Top Table was really good. My brother acted as the Master of Ceremonies and the microphone system was easy to use for all the speeches. The hotel even provided a screen and DVD player for messages from overseas guests who couldn't make it to be played before we cut the cake. We had canapes served while we had photo's taken and half our guests left the Macmillian section of the hotel for the main hotel bar as the drinks there were cheaper - but lots of people commented on how great the setting was, family from overseas and the UK were really impressed with the place and overall it was a totally perfect day!
